[ Dexter is sitting in the living room, the house completely silent when the knock comes. It almost makes him jump.

Instead, he goes numbly to answer the door, opening it for Elektra wordlessly, before returning to his personal couch-cushion sanctuary. ]

[She steps inside holding two boxes of eggo waffles. Yes, this is how she chose to use her fifteen minutes; getting her bodyguards to take her out for waffles.]

Are you hungry?

[ He's not, but he's also Dexter so he nods. ]

Did you get blueberry and chocolate chip?

I did. [She says this so matter of factly; like she comes to see him with waffles every day.] Those are your favorites, right?

[ He doesn't ask how she knows that. She is Elektra, after all. ]

Right. .. I appreciate you coming by.

[She heads over to use the toaster.]

I appreciate you letting me. I don't like doing nothing especially after I made a commitment.

[ He leans over the back of the couch, watching her. ]

A commitment?

Yes. [She'll be going for plates and syrup.] I had two choices after that virus ended; ignore what happened or accept the way I felt regarding all of you.

Since I picked the last one, it means all of you are my responsibility. I have to take care of you the best I can. That sounds a lot like a commitment, don't you think?

You don't have to take care of me, Elektra. But I .. feel the same way. You're like a second adoptive family to me.

[She's putting more focus into her task than necessary.] That's right. You have more experience in this than the rest of us.

Yeah, I guess I do. [ a frown as he glances to the TV, which is off. ]

[She places two plates down with waffles. That's right she's going to try to stomach this food.]

Do you want to watch TV while we eat?

Uh. Sure. [ he turns on the TV, not really paying attention to where it lands. then picks up his plate of eggos, carefully pushing them into small pieces with his fork ]

You're welcome. [She glances over at his plate before copying what he is doing.]

So I haven't really had these before. Do most people like them?

[ that causes a small, amused snort. ]

Yes, Elektra, most people like them. Have you never had waffles before?

[Elektra shoots him a look biting into a piece of it out of spite.]

I've been on a strict diet since I was a toddler. Waffles don't exactly fit into it.

[She sulks for a moment before adding.] I might have had couple of times when I was very little. My mother and I used to sneak away from our bodyguards together for fun and she'd let me eat whatever I wanted until they found us again.

[ His face falls a little, mabe a bit sympathetic. ]

I don't know the meaning of the word 'diet.' [ stone-faced as he bites into a blueberry wedge ]

[She grins.] I figured that out a long time ago. You probably couldn't survive an hour on what I eat in an entire day.

I couldn't survive without doughnuts, period.

I don't know how you do it.

[ head tilt, and more waffle nomming. ] Do what?
